"GRIM POTTERY" evolved in 1993 when I began an apprenticeship under Robin and Bet Mangum of Sparta, NC. Now I keep up a full time business in the beautiful mountains of Konnarock, VA. Like most potters, I quickly became addicted to the clay.

My love of the work and resulting quality of finished pottery has caused my business to grow each year. Grim Pottery now supplies local craft shops in Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. I work primarily with stoneware clay, making "Thrown" and "Slab Built" functional and decorative pottery.

My love of the clay also keeps me producing additional designs in order to try new things and to provide more products to my customers. Please contact me with new ideas!

I hope to pass on the tradition and trade to my two daughters, as well as our family's legacy of music making.

Thanks to all who have supported Grim Pottery!

Our Music

My husband, Tim and I currently perform together as "Acoustic Heritage". We both have over 20 years of playing experience. I grew up playing with my family band "The Konnarock Critters" and my husband with his family band "John Yates and the Yates Brothers". We blend Old Time and Bluegrass music, creating our own unique style.

For me there's just something about the pottery and music that go hand in hand, and fill our lives with inspiration. Watch this video to learn more about my pottery and music.
